Lenten Message For 2004
"In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy." - Acts 2:17-18
Lent is a time for renewal and deep spiritual growth. Do you desire a closer and deeper relationship with God? God is seeking a loving and meaningful relationship with you! How do you begin on this journey to finding a lasting and deeply devoted relationship with God? In prayer form express your deep love and devotion and earnest desire for a meaningful relationship with God. Now you are ready to take a giant step forward. Ask God this question, "Lord, is there something more?" Each time you ask the Lord this question he will reveal to you new and deeper revelations. Never stop seeking the Lord and pursuing the Lord for there is always something more!
Read and study the passages below during this Lenten period. God charges us all with this command that Paul had given to Timothy. Peace be with you.
God's Charge To All Of Us
"But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time - God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from Godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith. Grace be with you." - I Timothy 6:11-21
Blessings,
Cheryl
Hope In 2004
This past year has been a struggle, one of chaos and disasters in the world and in our personal lives. Where is the joy? Where is peace and happiness? Where do we turn when our lives seem to be falling apart? Be of good cheer for there is Hope in the Lord! Let me show you how to find peace, joy, and hope in the Lord, but most of all I wish for each and every one of you to experience the most fantastic, ultimate love of God through his beloved son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is Lord, Lord of Lords, King of Kings. Now let me walk you through some Bible scriptures both old and new testament readings to lead you in finding your ultimate hope and joy.
"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him my Savior and my God." - Psalm 42:5
"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him." - Psalm 62:5
"The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love." - Psalm 147:11
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." - Romans 12:12
"But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet." - 1 Thessalonians 5:8
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." - Romans 15:13
"It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us." - 2 John 1:4
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." - 3rd John 1:4
"Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." - 1 Corinthians 13:6-7
"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." - 1 Corinthians 13:13
During this year when the difficult times come, we know where to go to receive all that we need. Put your hope and trust in God alone. God will bless you with His peace, His joy, His hope, and most of all His unselfish, unrelenting, magnificent Power of Love. Walk now in the Love of God.
Peace and Blessings to you,
